Violet Viewer frequently asked questions.

 

What computers does Violet View run on?
 

Currently Violet View only runs on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista. Violet is also in trail testing to be used with Mac OS X, however this may not be released until version 2.

 

Can I try Violet Viewer before I purchase a copy?
 

Yes. You can send an email to [email protected] to request a free trial version.

 

Our operation centre is managed by a system administrator, do I need to get them to install Violet Viewer?
 

In most cases no. If you are using an individual version of Violet Viewer you can put it straight onto a USB stick and take it where ever you go. You can also do this with the professional version. However if you want to install it on a desktop you would need to have administrator privileges.

 

Our centre uses a wireless network that I connect to. Will Violet Viewer work over a wireless network?
 

Yes, Violet Viewer will still run over a wireless network.

 

Can I use Violet Viewer over a VPN?
 

No, Violet is currently designed to working inside one operation centre on a local area network.

 

Does Violet Viewer work on Citrix and Terminal Server?
 

No, Violet Viewer is not designed to be run in a Citrix or Terminal Server environment. If you do have a large requirement for Violet to be run in these environments please email [email protected] to discuss a custom solution.

 

I have purchased an individual licence, can I share it with a colleague in my operation centre?
 

No, Violet Viewer will not allow you to run two copies using the same licence. You can get your colleague to either request a trail version or purchases an individual licence, that way you can both use Violet Viewer at the same time.

 

Can Violet Viewer be used across the internet?
 

No, Violet Viewer is designed to only work on an internal network.
